Story Summary

"It's good even if it's crispy."

At Cocytus Hall, Simeon and Luke are surprised to see Lucifer. Luke asks if Lucifer is here to spy on their angelic activities, but Lucifer says he's only come to see if they were having any difficulties adjusting to the Devildom. Simeon asks Lucifer if he's being altruistic and MC can either deny this or tease Lucifer for being shy. During their conversation, Lucifer notices a burning smell and Luke runs into the kitchen, realizing that his cake is ruined. Solomon comes out to see what happened and Luke mentions that his cake was supposed to be a special cake.

"Food in the Devildom is pre..."

Luke starts crying and admits that the cake was supposed to be for MC in honor of their new position of attendant. Luke tells MC that he makes a special cake every year in the Celestial Realm for Michael's birthday and that MC's cake was supposed to be similar, but made with Devildom ingredients. Lucifer asks Luke what he used and Luke thinks it was the ordeal oranges he used as an accent. Lucifer explains that ordeal orange peels are used to make gunpowder which is why Luke's cake ended up exploding.

"I would like you to each me..."

Lucifer is reluctant to help, but Solomon is eager. MC can be excited to bake in a group or apprehensive. Luke tells Solomon to separate some egg whites and asks Simeon to sift the dry ingredients. Lucifer decides he will slice the fruit. Luke is surprised, but thanks Lucifer for his help. MC is put in charge of making the meringue. As they bake, Lucifer recalls that he used to bake this cake a lot for Michael too and Simeon remembers how Michael raved about Lucifer's cakes. Luke remarks "...So, you really were an angel." and Lucifer asks him if that's so hard to believe. However, before Luke can respond, Lucifer gets a call and goes home to check on his brothers. After he's gone, Luke worries that he made Lucifer mad, but the others reassure him that Lucifer is fine. The four of them finish preparing the cake and agree to have some tea as they wait for it to finish baking.

"I totally get where Simeon is..."

After tea, Solomon and Simeon start cleaning up. When Luke tries to help, Simeon tells him that he and MC should sit and enjoy themselves. After Simeon and Solomon leave the room, Luke tells MC that while he doesn't regret tagging along with Simeon, he feels useless to him in the Devildom, since he managed to burn a cake and insult Lucifer on the same day. MC attempts to reassure Luke, but Luke remains upset. He tells MC that in the Celestial Realm, apprentice angels are supposed to read all sorts of books. One of which is a book about fallen angels that contains a picture of Lucifer with black wings and a demonic expression. Luke tells MC that when he first saw it, he had nightmares. Luke also tells MC that in the very back of the library is a painting of Lucifer from when he was still an angel and says that he can't believe that Lucifer and Lucifer now are the same person. MC thinks Lucifer hasn't actually changed that much, but Luke isn't sure that MC knows what they're talking about. However, Simeon steps in and agrees with MC that Lucifer hasn't changed. Simeon tells Luke that Lucifer is the type to put his friends and family first and that Luke is a part of that. Luke ends up deciding that he should get to know Lucifer better and then Solomon announces that the cake is done. Luke asks MC if they can take Lucifer a slice once it's frosted.
