Story Summary

"You still play it?"

In the House of Lamentation's common room, Mammon is playing the video game "Devil Crossing." According to Leviathan, this is a very old game and he's surprised Mammon is still playing it. Mammon explains that there are rumors that there is a rare item in the game that's worth real money. Leviathan is not aware of these rumors so Mammon explains that there is a special item available for two weeks around the player's birthday. Leviathan realizes that if the rumors are true and Mammon finds the item, he might make enough money to repay his debts. He then announces that he will help Mammon find this item.

"How free are you?"

Mammon, MC, and Leviathan relocate to Leviathan's bedroom. Mammon announces he's in charge but Leviathan interrupts to explain his own plan. He tells Mammon he's found out more information about the item. It is allegedly a "phantom dragon fossil" and while this is only the in-game name of the item, the place where it's buried in the game also exists in the real world. In the real world, there is an ancient treasure from the earliest days of the Devildom. Leviathan doesn't believe in the rumors but Mammon insists that they try to find it anyway. As they search, Satan enters the room to borrow a manga from Leviathan. After the group explains the situation to him, Satan suggests that they get a map so they can find the item easier.

Angeluke
"It's so exciting!"

Satan shows Mammon and Leviathan a file, explaining that he knows someone who worked on development for Devil Crossing. The file contains the map to the treasure, and Satan tells Mammon that he and MC should go get it. Mammon and MC follow the map and it leads them to the lake. Once they get there, Mammon realizes that he doesn't have a shovel to dig it up with. This means he and MC have to come up with some other way to find the treasure, but they eventually realize that it's in a tree. After they get the treasure chest down by shaking the tree, Mammon opens it to discover a ring and a note. Mammon reads the note and is surprised by the content.

"There's a hidden item."

Mammon gets quiet after reading the note and hides it from MC. He tells them that they should go home. Once they get home, Mammon tells Leviathan there was no treasure and once he leaves, Mammon takes MC to his room. Mammon sits them down and tells them that he loves them. He reveals that the note was from someone on the development team who had their heart broken. They weren't able to use the ring so they hoped someone else could. Mammon offers MC the ring and they can decide whether they want to accept it.
